I am Joseline, of the house of Myhr. For centuries we traded spices, fabrics and fragerant oils to the wealthiest kingdoms on the earth. During my second century as manager of business relationships, someone figured out I was not like all the other people they did business with and they sent bounty hunters to rid the earth of my family. I am all that is left.

I was out of the country when they attacked the manor and didn't realise what had happened until a year later. My family are vampires but we do not kill or go after prey. We were lords over a great span of land and our subjects found us to be fair and compassionate so they volenteered the blood we needed. As such, we showed them how to work the soil so that they got the most from it. It was a working relationship that had lasted for many generations. When my family was killed, the towns people hunted the people behind the attack and took their own revenge on them. It was fair.

As the years went by, I found new ways to express my artistic side. I was in the states for a showing of my work in Houston, Texas. I was about to go to the airport to leave for New Orleans when I began to feel pent up like a lion in a cage so I went for a walk in the bar district. I had been walking for what seemed like an eternity when I came across a most bazaar scene. It would forever alter my existance. I knew that there were some odd things walking this tiny marble in space but I had no clue how strange things could and would get.

Delta looked like a pretty ordinary girl. She wasn't ugly but by no means a raging beauty. She was moderate height and had short, curly brown hair. Her head was down so I couldn't see her face but she had a look about her. Like someone who had carried a heavier load on her shoulders than she could handle. I can only say very little about her because I only knew her for about 10 minutes.

It was a dark night and I was searching for a meal. I saw her standing on a corner beneath a street light, looking for something in her shirt pocket. Or at least I thought it was her pocket.

As I walked closer, I realised her hand was in her own chest. That freaked me out. I thought she may have been a vampire too but I could smell the life coming off of her. Curious I walked closer. As I neared I saw blood on her chest, alot of blood.

"Ma'am, are you looking for something?"

She looked up at me with a blank stare. It almost seemed as if she were looking for her keys or something. Her make up was smeared and I could see where she had used a cover stick to hid a bruise. She had definately been crying and she had an unatural look about her. Like someone who has gone around the bend and wasn't coming back.

"Yes I am. I am trying to tear out that thing that is tearing me apart."

"What would that be?"

"I don't know but I will know when I find it. Oh, there it is..."

With that she got a far off look in her eyes and pulled hard at something. She had removed something from her chest and was walking towards a trash can. As she walked her knees got weak and just as she got to it, she fell to them. She began to speak to me in a dull and raspy voice as if she had known me forever.

"That is the last time he will do that. He beats me all the time and then he ties me to a chair and has sex with my 16 year old daughter. She loves it, she taunts me with it all the time. I have been trying to figure out how to deal with them and now I know. I will leave them to each other."

With that she died. Sort of dazed by the whole event, I walked to the trash can to see what it was she had thrown away. I nearly gagged when I saw her lifeless heart laying atop the heap of trash.

All of this got me to thinking about the frailty of humanity. I didn't know if it were a blessing or a curse to be what I am but I knew being human had been a curse for her. I couldn't get her out of my mind so I looked into who exactly she was in life. The smell of her blood and her life force seared me. I had to know more about this odd woman. I hired a private investigator to check into it, not wanting to be too obvious in my methods. He reported to me that she was Delta Roberts, the wife of a senator and mother of a 16 year old daughter.

He showed me a picture of the girl, she was a lovely girl with long curly black hair and chocolate brown, almond shaped eyes. She was obviously a cheer leader because of the uniform she wore in the picture. She had a body that most top paid models would envy. I could see why a man would be attracted to her but I still couldn't believe what Delta had told me.

I snuck in at her funeral and watched to see who the husband was. Sure enough I had seen this mans face on billboards. He was Senator Tom Roberts. I had always had an off feeling about him. Cautiously I approached him, I had come this far and couldn't stop now. As I reached for his hand to shake it and offer my condolances, I felt a strange, almost electric feeling from him. All I knew was I didn't like it one bit so I tried to make it quick but when our hands touched, I saw something in his face. It was like a hologram over his face. It looked like a bulls head. When I saw it, it was like being hit in the head with a brick. I had never, in life or death seen anything like that so I had to investigate further.

I went to speak to the daughter.. a bit leary after having met the father but determined. She looked nice enough. So I approached her and on inspection she appeared to be grieving appropriately but when I looked into her eyes, I got a chill. The sadness on her face never got to her eyes. I announced myself to her and she told me that her name was Adrial I extended my hand to, again offer my condolances, and when our hands touched, I had yet another vision. This time it was a beautiful but fierce womans face. Her eyes were bright red and she had large black bat wings with red veins running thru them. I was stunned for a bit and stood with my mouth open and then the vision shrieked at me like a banshee. I shook myself out of the trance I had been under and excused myself. It took a while for me to muddle my thoughts and remember clearly what had just happened. Who were these people really and were they really "people"?

I went to a book store that a friend of mine owned. I told him what I had seen and he led me to the religious/myth section and showed me a book on ancient religions. I came to on particular book that had a great deal of information on the subject. The following seemed to jump off the page at me.

"Well, the succubus is a demon from legend that supposedly preys on mortal men while he sleeps; a sexual vampire of sorts. The actual name has its origins from late Latin- succuba meaning prostitute, which in turn comes from medieval Latin sub cubaire meaning 'that which lies beneath'. The male version is the incubus (from Latin- 'that which lies above'). There are some sources who claim that the succubus and the incubus are one and the same creature who can change form at will to prey on mortals.

Many varying legends relate to the succubus, each influenced by the culture and socio-political context in which these legends arose. For example, in medieval times, the succubus was seen as a fearsome creature who killed her victims by drinking their breath. This is interesting in that, at the time, the breath was seen as a part of the person's spirit, and in doing so, the succubus was thought to be stealing the victim's soul. Later, the habits of the succubus were deemed to of a more sexual than vampiric nature, and this notion probably arose from the change in social climate that saw sexual deviancy as a mortal sin, and so, those who committed such a sin against God, were deserving of their fate in some way."

After I read that I looked at my friend and said, "Jim, that explains the daughter but not the father, they looked nothing alike?"

"What did you say his face looked like? The hologram part?"

"A bull head."

"Ok well let me see, I don't know what would mate with a woman and get a sucubus, are you sure that Delta was a woman? I mean a human woman?"

"Not really, I only saw the father and daughters real nature when I touched them. I never touched her."

"Well perhaps we can look some things up and then later you can try to get to the body and see if you can touch it. It may be too late but perhaps you can get somthing from her."

"Ok, well where do we look?"

"Humm not sure but let's just dive in."

After a couple of hours of searching we finally found a book that spoke of half human, half animals. No real descriptions of what they would look like but it struck a cord with me.

The following is an excerpt from the book.

"What are the Q'asi?

The Q'asi are a half-human, half-half animal people. In fact, the word Q'asi is where the Latin word "quasi" or "half" is derived from.

Close relatives of Demons, but unable exist on their own, the Q'asi have evolved to the point where they have no bodies of their own and must therefore co-exist in a host body as a symbiot.

Why did the Q'asi pick Humans?

Q'asi originally existed in animal bodies, but have over the course of time, assimilated animal DNA into their own genetic make up thereby making life within animal hosts impossible. The only bodies that were capable of supporting them without fully assimilating them or becoming assimilated by them were the Humans.

Humans were also ideal because their bodies were fully adaptable to change between Human and Animal form without permanent damage to their basic cell structure and were the least likely to resist foreign DNA entering into their system."

I don't know how it made sense but it did. I tried to stop thinking about it all because it was making me drained. It all seemed to melt into each other but I had to seek it out and find out why I felt so driven to know about these, whatever they were. Jim walked me to the door as he locked up for the night and told me he was really buzzed by the story I had told him and that if it hadn't been me, he would have never believed me. He told me to be careful because there is more in heaven and earth than can be concieved in the mind of men. I laughed but he took my hand and stared into my eyes and told me that he wasn't joking. I may very well be walking into the darkest pit I had ever seen and he knew that with all my years that was a stretch but because I didn't know what I was looking at, it could be more frightening than I could imagine. I could only think, a frightened vampire, how odd.

I returned home, not knowing exactly what to do with my new information. I had thought hard about calling the police and letting them know all about what I had found out but decided that was a bad idea. They would never believe me and even if they did, they could do nothing about it. I pondered on why I would be the one Delta spoke to. Was it a whim of fate, or was my steps guided that night by some unseen power? I could not decide and so I took a walk to clear my mind.

I have no idea how long I had been walking because it seemed as though time had no meaning for me that night. I walked aimlessly by a church and saw a man standing on the corner asking for change. He appeared to be blind and stood leaning on a cain. He told me he had been injured in Viet Nam and had found a hard time keeping a job since. As I neared, I felt I was to take his hand. As our skin touched I felt a power leave him and flow into my outstretched hand. As it began to course thru me, I saw his true self. He had the face of a fierce angel. His eyes burned like fire. He had wings of fire that flowed behind him. He was a fierce creature but I had no fear of him.

"Who are you, who are you truly?" I asked him.

"I am in truth the angel Andreas. I waited to say this until you had seen it for yourself. I am sent to inform you on your mission in the place."

I eyed him suspiciously. Was he really blind? If so, how much of what he said could I really trust? I had no idea why I was suddenly able to see these things when I touched other persons skin and it was beginning to annoy me. I pondered this new even harshly and found myself lost in thought.

"Joseline", he said in a firm tone, "you have much on your mind. Let me clear some of it up. Yes my physical body is blind. I am not this body though so I am able to do things the blind can not. I have been reading your mind this entire time. I realize that you can not understand this new gift of yours. In truth, it has always been yours, only it is just now that the demons and their kind have been coming to the surface in droves. As such, angels must do the same. It is not that you could not tell the differance on touch before but only that you never touched a demon, a succubus or an angel before all of this. We mourn the passing of Delta, she was a lovely woman with a bright future. If only she had not have married the demon she did. I understand she could not have seen him for what he was but we did send undercover angels to try to warn her and she would not listen to us. All of what I am saying and more is in the scroll. I want you to take and go to the library in the Vatican, there you will find support for all that is stated here in. But be aware that you are being followed and you will see Tom and Adrial Roberts again. Believe me they will not let you go without a fight because even now they are beginning to figure out what you have seen and they can not let a witness go."

My head was spinning for some reason. I felt faint. This is not something that happens to a vampire, we are unaffected by any of the weakness of man. I wanted to ask what was happening to me when this strange man changed before my eyes to the form of the angel I had seen before when I shook hands with him. He told me something I almost couldn't hear because, even though he was right in front of me he sounded like he was a mile away. He said something to the affect of my odd state being a result of having been so close to an angel for so long. He said that it would go away when he had left for a couple of minutes and it was a bit like radiation poisoning. With that he faded away into nothing and I closed my eyes until the world was right again.

The events of the last couple of days had been so odd that I had no way of discerning fact from fiction. I called my friend Jim back up and he did some research. He told me that he could find little on what I had told him of the "angel" but that concidering all the other things that I had told him, something big was going on and I needed to go to the library at the Vatican and look into what I could find there on it.

"If you need me, have your laptop with you and you can reach me online. I think that there is a monk at the Vatican who can help you. Let me look up his name while you get ready to go and I will call you back and let you know. Ok?"

"Jim, you do know that I am a vampire don't you?"

"Yes, why do you ask?"

"A vampire at the Vatican? This doesn't seem odd to you?"

"Point taken but I can't go right now, so it will have to be a vamp in catholic-ville. I will call you soon. Bye."

With that I hung up the phone and went to go pack. Thinking of the place I would be going, I packed light and concervative. Later, Jim called back and told me to call and make the needed plans with a Brother Wendell Reeves. He told me that he had spoken with him and that he needed to speak with me, personally, before he would agree to meet with me. So I hung up and called to speak with him.

"Pardon me, may I speak with Brother Reeves? I think he is expecting my call, I am Joseline."

"Yes, ma'am, this is he. Jim spoke to me about you but he tells me you are a vampire?"

"Yes, I am."

"I thought they were fantasy, ok, I am willing to help you but you must agree to my terms ok?"

"If I can, what are they?"

"You can not kill while you are at the Vatican. You must share any information that you get with me personally and no one else and you must promise I will not be on the menu."

"Humm, obviously Jim did not tell you enough. I do not kill for blood Brother. I use only volenteers and only a little from any one as to not do them any harm. When all is said and done they get as much from it as I do. I am a fierce protector of those I am connected with."

"Well then I take it my terms are agreeable?"

"Yes Brother they are."

"Then I will meet you at the airport. Travel well and God be with you."

"An odd idea but the thought is appreciated. Until then farewell."

We hung up and I took my suitcase, called a cab and headed to the airport. All during the flight I couldn't think, my head felt numb and tingly like I was asleep. I knew I wasn't but I couldn't make it stop so I closed my eyes. Suddenly a vision came to me of a war. There were humans, demons of all kinds and succubus. The humans were out numbered and dropping like flies. I thought to myself that this could not be true, how could it be. Then a voice in the back of my head told me that it was not only true, it was coming and when it did no one human would survive. I had to find a way to stop it before it could get started. The plane touched down. As soon as I got to the terminal I saw Brother Wendell. He ushered me to a cab and we made our way quickly to the Vatican Library.

He allowed me to make arrangements at a local hotel and then we set and talked for a bit.

"How do you entend to approach this problem? I only ask because I want to know how I can help. I think this is tied in with the nightmares that I and every monk here in the city has been having for the last month or so. They are all differant for each person but recurring and they all have the same theme."

"To be perfectly honest, I have no idea. I am, quite frankly, in over my head. I really don't want to be doing this but I have no choice it would seem. Perhaps I need to speak with the other monks and hear their dreams. If you are right and if I know what they are then maybe I can find a connection. So please, tell me yours."

"Ok, well when it starts, I am in a field I am looking over vast army of demons and something else I can only describe as flying women. There are people every where being slaughtered and there are not enough of them to mount a real defense. The blood seems to be about knee high on most of the men. There seems to be no way for this to end well for us humans."

"That is the same vision I had on the plane flying here. I need to hear the others nightmares in order to find a way to use this information. All I can tell you right now is that there is a coming war between the demons, succubus and humans. Succubus are the women you saw and they are a relative to the demon but a bit differant. It is apperant to me that I am to find the connection between the dreams and what I have already been involved in and find a way to stop this. Your dream is prophetic. If it changes now in any way, even the smallest detail, I need to know. I know I need to be looking in your library but I don't know where to start."

"Humm let me speak with the bretheren and see if we can get a clue. For now, why don't you go to your room and, well whatever a vampire does."

Suddenly I remembered the scroll the angel had given to me. Did I bring it with me or did I forget it back home. I bade the monk goodbye and went to my room to find that the scroll was packed in the front pocket of my suitcase. As I opened it I realised it had an odd smell to it. I had been around this before but when? I had a strong memory of being in a room, perhaps a basement and seeing weapons every where. The smell was there too. I shook my head and attempted to read the scroll but for some reason the lettering wouldn't stay still. I would mention all of this to Brother Wendell when I saw him again.

I had long held the belief that there was more than met the eye to pretty much everything we see. I had no idea how truly right I was. I had become very leary about shaking hands with or hugging any one I didn't know well. I had seen to much in too little of a time. The really odd thing was that the more I saw of the demons revealing themselves, the odder I felt. I had come to realize that when I was in the presence of demons, I was more at ease. This worried me. I had always scoffed at the idea that vampires were untimately evil but perhaps I had been wrong. Why was I acting this way and if I was only this far in, what would I be like in a month?

I looked around my room and suddenly realized that the phone was ringing. I looked at the clock and I had been dazed out for about 4 hours. I answered the phone and it was Brother Wendell, he told me that we had to speak in person as soon as possible. We decided to meet in a park about 5 minutes from the hotel I was staying in and I hung up the phone and rushed to meet him. He didn't impress me as being a man prone to exagerations but he seemed nearly panicky.

When I saw his face, he looked like he had seen a ghost.

"Joseline, did you bring the scroll as I had asked you to?"

"Yes brother, what seems to be the problem?"

"Please give it to me, I will explain in a minute."

I hunted thru the bag I had brought with me and found it. When I handed it to him, I could see a strange light coming from it. It was almost like a flame but I could feel cold coming from it. When it touched his skin, he buckled over in pain, screemed and dropped it. I picked it up and asked him what was wrong.

"Come over to this table and open the scroll so I can read it. Please."

He was still having trouble breathing heavily from the pain. He looked pail.

"You see this line here at the top of the second paragraph? This is about you. The reason I can't hold the scroll is because it has been cursed. No holy man can hold it. You are slowly but surely being poisoned on a soul level. It is changing your person. Have you noticed any strange things happening to you lately? Have you noticed yourself becoming more at home with evil? Perhaps having a hard time focusing?"

"Odd you should mention it. Yes I have. I need the scroll though don't I?"

"Yes but it would do no good to rid yourself of it now. You would have to destroy the demon that cursed it to make any changes. His name is Balrog. He is the demon over the planning of any really large spiritual battles. If you come back to the monestary with me, the brothers and I can take the curse off of the scroll so that I can hold it and decipher it for you. Right now if I hold it for too long, I will die."

"Surely, lead the way."

Finally we arrived and I waited in a sitting room after I had taken the scroll into the chapel so that they could remove the curse. They all walked out about a half an hour later, dripping with sweat and looking pale as I had seen Brother Wendell earlier. I asked what had happened.

"We were able to remove the curse, but nearly at the cost of our lives. The evil you fight must truly be strong. Please take this with you and keep it close. I do not know why but I feel that it is supposed to be yours. It is to protect your mind as you journey closer to your enemy, he will sense your approach and try to stop you. Be aware that we are only human and can only do so much. If you remain true to your path, we will give our very lives to aid you. Just make our losses worth it. My bretheren here are good men, devout and honorable in their hearts and minds to the truth. Let not your heart be troubled, we will be watching and will help as we are able."

With that I took the item that Brother Wendell was offering me. It was a gold chain with a amulet of a heart on fire hanging from it. When he placed it in my hand, it began to glow and my hand felt hot. I had him help me put it on and with in seconds, there was a red heart where it touched my skin. I looked into his eyes and saw a distant sadness but decided that if he wanted me to know he would tell me. Suddenly he collapsed before me and I reached out to grab him, keeping him from hitting the floor. I cried out for help and his fellow brothers came running. They laid him in bed and made him drink lemon water to re hydrate him. I asked them to keep me informed on his condition and bade them farewell. My mind spun and I had to find something to distract me for a bit so I would not go nuts. I decided to visit a town I had known as a child.

I went back to my room to prepare for my trip. The harder I tried not to think, the more my thoughts seemed to race. There was something I was missing, I could feel it. I didn't know what it was, I just knew something was not right and I had to quiet my mind long enough to figure it all out. I tried to think of who I could talk to, that could help me sort things out but my foggy mind wouldn't even let me go there. In desperation, I left my room and just wandered the streets again. After what seemed to be an eternity, I saw a man in a long white cape. He seemed to glow almost and I felt drawn to him. As I got closer to him, I could see his eyes, they were the clearest blue eyes I had ever seen and they seemed to glow. A soft subtle glow, warm and wise. As I approached him he noticed me and smiled. It was a gracious and sincere smile. One that made me smile in return. He was a large and muscled man. I could tell even beneath the cape. He spoke to me but for a second I couldn't focus on what he said. Suddenly he grabbed my hand and I realised I had nearly fallen backward. He quietly led me to a bench nearby and had me sit.

"Greetings, gracious lady. I am Gabriel. Very nice to finally meet you Joselyn. I know why you are here and I am ready to help you when you are ready to begin. All you need do is begin to tell me whatever is in your heart to speek."

"Ok, well since you know so much about me, I am going to take for granted that you know what has been going on over the last few weeks. I know what I am seeing is more than meets the eye, there is something right in front of me but I can't figure out what it is. I feel it and it is taunting me. It is teasing me and laughing at me. There is an important key right in front of me and I can't find it. It is making me bats."

"Ok, well first you need to completely empty your mind of all but this one thing. Peace. You will not be able to focus on any one thing as long as you are trying so hard. Relax and listen to the sound of my voice."

As I listened, his voice seemed to become as the sound of rushing waters, flowing over my tired and heated mind. It cooled my fevered thoughts. I don't remember all of what he said but soon an image began to immerge in my mind. As it did, I saw demons marrying with humans and all the fears of the ages being birthed in front of me. Suddenly vampires seemed such a small part of the picture. We had fed on humans for ages but none of us as dasterdly as these. They did everything they did for the sole reason of ussurping the human race and eventually claiming the planet for themselves. No more humans, no more vampires, no more angels, no more anything that they themselves had not spawned. The image was dreadful and shook me to the core.

"I knew you had it in you Joselyn. Now you know what we angels have been seeing more and more of and the reason you had to meet Delta. She had no idea what her husband was and didn't even til her death. It was a tragedy. As you have been told before she had been warned many times but we can not interfere in the affairs of humanity, we can only advise and she would't listen. He had stolen her mind long before he stole her sanity. I feel her loss daily. I feel the loss of all the people who are being sacrificed to this plan. We are here to help but we need you to do fight this fight because you can do what we can not."

"I can do what angels can not? How is this?"

"You were born of this planet. You are a part of it, we are only here as guest. We have very little rights when it comes to intervening in the daily lives of people. You are not bound by such hinderances. As you have seen it is not only humanity that is at risk here. Vampires themselves are facing a foe more hanous than any of your fellow vampires have ever been. I know that, in general, there is a place that vampires won't cross. These new demons have no line they won't cross. They will do whatever they deem necissary to fulfill the plan before them."

As he finished speaking I noticed he was becoming thin, or rather transperant. By the time he finished this sentance, he was before me no more. Somehow the war that had raged in my mind had abated and I could think once more. The thing I had been missing was that answer to what had to be done. I had to find the demon at the core of all of this and do away with him. Who was he though? How would I find him? It dawned on me that everything seemed to open up when I met Delta. This had to mean that her husband and daughter were near the center of all of this. I had to go back and find out what they had to do with all of this. What importance did they hold with all of what was happening?

I decided to go back to the monestary and find Wendell. When I arrived, I was greeted by one of the bretheren and he led me to Wendells room. He looked worse than when I had last seen him. He beckoned me and I went closer to his bed. He could hardly be heard, his voice was so small. He looked like he was on deaths door. He asked me if I had any news to relay and I told him all that had happened. This is when he reminded me of Balrog. He told me that Balrog was not the one I had to destroy but one of the many I would have to encounter in my hunt for the one. He also told me that, from what he could find out the senator was close to Balrog in some way and that was the illusive connection that had been spinning around in my head for so long. He told me he was sorry that he would not be able to help me any more but taking the curse off of the scroll had taken more from him than he realised. He was dying and wished me the best of luck in my battle. He promised that after he died he would speak to the bretheren that had gone before to send me help. I bade him goodbye and left to return to New Orleans and began to search up this Balrog.

Vampires do not sleep as mortals do but we do require some rest. Only when I tried to rest I kept seeing visions of the attack that my family had to endure the night they died. I could not understand why I would be suffering these images now as it had been many lifetimes since their deaths. I was back in New Orleans again so I called up the monistary I had visited in The Vatican and asked for anyone who remembered me. A man came to the phone and addressed me telling me his name was Brother Night. I told him what had been happening and he got my hotels phone number. He told me he had an idea of what was going on but wouldn't take a chance of giving me bad information. He said he needed to consult the bretheren and would call me back in about an hour. I hung up and tried once more to rest but to no avail. I paced my room and finally called the roomservice to have them send up a glass of beef blood to abate my growing hunger. Odd, I had not become this ravenous in years. They sent up a glass of the blood plus a pitcher besides. I was glad they had been to thoughtful as the glass only served to wet my appitite. The phone rang after what seemed like an eternity later and Brother Night told me what I had come tp suspect all along. The attack on my family had been orchistrated by the demons who currently led this war strategy. It was all connected. There was no proof to base the why on only that they were connected. The only problem was that in order to stop what was coming, I had to know the why. He told me he would keep looking the answer for as long as he could find a lead. I thanked him for his help and hung up but before I could hang up he warned me that I would need to get as much rest as possible because when this really got rolling it would be hard to find time for it. Though I am not mortal, I would need the strength if I entended to win.

I had begun to think that perhaps my family had possessed a gifting that would have made us dangerous to the demons planning this vile thing. But what possible gift could we, vampires, carry that would frighten a demon, weren't we like them? I called my friend Jim to speak with him and when he answered the phone, I nearly fell to the floor. A vision hit me so hard that my head felt like a bomb had gone off in it.

"Jim, what is going on?"

"I don't know why you ask that, Claire, nothing is odd here."

"Jim, there are four demons with you, one is a dark red one with flamey eyes right?"

"Yes that is what I got for my birthday but I don't think that helps here."

"Stay away from the windows, let me get some help and I am right there for you ok?"

"Is that such a good thing to buy for your mothers anniversary?"

"Trust me, it will be ok.. just stay away from the windows and the doors."

"Ok but we don't open til in the morning. Maybe late."

"Be right there Jim. Trust me in this."

I hung up the phone and called the vatican again. I explained what was going on and they went into the chappel to pray for assistance. Before we hung up the brother I spoke with told me to carry some alluminum foil with me and when I got there to tear it into 12 equal pieces and throw them to the wind in the direction of the house I was to be invading. I had no idea why but I did as I was told and as soon as they left my hand they began flying thru the air and taking on a shape of their own. Each one was simular in that they all had the same shape and wings of fire. Each carried a sword and flew like large birds of prey. I ran hard and fast to catch up with them and jumped thru a window behind one. Glass flew past me and cut my face and arms but I payed no attention to it but kept running until I had run right into a demon. The angel I had followed in spun me around and slammed me to the floor before he cut off the demons head with his sword. I was going to be upset but when I saw how affective he was I bowed to his supremecy.

Things went all up in the air for about five minutes and then it was all quiet again. I finally stood up and the angel who had thrown me to the floor came and assisted me in regaining my balance.

"My friend, I thank you for giving us access to this fight. We were always ready but no one has given us a doorway in. Yes, it is possible for angels and vampires to be friends."

"My, my , my don't I learn something new every day. Ok my friend, if I need your assistance again may I call on you?"

"Well of course you may, just let the brothers at the vatican know and they will summon us. After that all you need is foil. The metal is light and strong as well as easily shaped, that is why we use it."

"Good thinking, is there anything you can tell me to help me in this search for truth?"

"No, we fight, we don't get information. We each have our niche in life. Fighting is ours. I assume you will hear from Gabrielle again tho."

"Thank you my friend, what is your name?"

"Joseline, I am Mordred. I lead this band of warring angels. If you wish we can band a differant group of warring angels together to go with you every where you go. They are only to protect you, if you need something like this you will have to summon me and mine again."

"Thank you Mordred, I would appreciate that greatly. "

"You will not see them, but you will see their works. They are not to get in your way and the best way to keep them from interfering with your work is to remain unseen and unfelt until the time of need."

"I understand."

He appeared to by praying and after a time I felt a breeze, he told me that was them.

Princess Juliette's Embrace Part 4

I rolled up the map and bid my love farewell. It only partially registered with my numbed out mind that my love had mentioned reunion. I never thought to ask how this could be. I was so overjoyed by being able to spend time with him agian that I had no time or emotion left to pay attention to anything else but his face. It took, what seemed to be a life time to get my head cleared again. When I finally did, I realised I had blindly began to follwo the map my love had given me. I had not stopped to get supplies or to check my sources I had just taken off. Fortunately, everything seemed to fit into place just as I needed it. As if some one were going ahead of me and making a way for me.

I never even thought to look at the name of the city I was going to. As irony would have it, when I finally did get curious and checked the map, the name of the city "Romeo's Gate". I laughed nervously, trying to make light of such an odd thing. As I traveled down this one long road, I didn't notice anything bazaar at first but it was around noon and suddenly everything was a dark as night. I thought it was an eclipse at first but when I went back a few feet, it began to lighten up. Thinking all had corrected itself, I started off again only to end up in the dard again. I had no time to research but it worried me that such an unatural thing was happening.
